The lady in this photograph is Mary Williams who lived in No. 9 Caroline Street. She was another sister to Cathrine, Rachel and Sal, who lived next door to her at no. 8.
Another elderly lady Louisa Phillips lived at 34 Caroline Street, Blaenrhondda.
The BBC took me to Blaenrhondda in December 2011. We met with a lovely family and some of their neighbours.
We were told that this lady, Louisa Phillips, worked on the surface of the colliery all her life, picking slag from a conveyor belt. She always wore a man's 'Dai Cap' back to front on her head.
This picture was taken the same time as the other Blaenrhondda pictures, around 1960.
