This is Brick Row, Seven Sisters.
Work began on the first pit in Seven Sisters in1872 by Evan Evans Bevan, who named the pit after his own Sisters.
The first houses built for the miners were this single storey terrace in Brick Row
As the village grew around the pit it took on the same name. Seven Sisters.
I would like to thank the staff at the Cefn Coed Colliery Museum, Deborah and Simon, for their dedicated assistance in helping to identify Brick Row and supplying additional information about the area.
